The question
How can people explore an asteroid impact and understand possible responses? Our team took on this question at the NASA Space Apps Challenge in Edmonton, hosted at NorQuest College.
The approach
I led a team with Jaren Wheeler, Avi Pancholi, and Yaksh Sharma. We built a React and Node.js application that lets a visitor choose a location, adjust asteroid properties, and explore impact zones in a 3D environment. AI-assisted guidance adds possible mitigation and recovery strategies.
The result
The team won first place at the Edmonton event in 2025. The project brings together geospatial visualization, simulation, and decision support in an accessible web experience. This was a local event win; global judging was a separate stage.
